About me



My name is Mrs. Karen Wilform! I was born and raised in San Diego, CA. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies many years ago. While other classmates stayed in school and worked towards a teaching credential, my life took a different path. I married and chose to be a homemaker instead. I gave birth to four beautiful children and my husband and I decided that at the time, homeschooling was how we wanted our children educated. I was happy to be teaching, just in a different venue.

Twenty years later, our lives have changed once again. My two oldest children, who were homeschooled until high school, are attending a community college, while my younger two are at the high school and elementary levels. My husband went back to school to earn a few degrees and is currently in a Ph.D. program. I went back to school to earn a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. After getting my credential, I will be continuing my education with the online Master of Arts in Teaching Program at SDSU. As you can see, education is important to my family.

I feel like I am at an advantageous time in my life, where I can still give back and make an impact through teaching in the lives of the students I have worked with in the past and to my future students as well. I have always believed in the value of education and its importance in our lives. No matter the educational setting, whether homeschool, public, or private, I enjoy learning and teaching with my students. Through the inspiration and teaching, I have received in the past; I am excited to continue my career in education. I have learned that you are never too old to go back to school and accomplish whatever your heart desires.
